Responsible Internet use

With the advent of the internet in a class project, goes the responsibility of monitoring the appropriate use of this tool. It will be necessary to constantly be in the fore front of Web site use. It will be necessary to continue to audit and check web sites as they are used. Educating the students as to what to watch for in sites will be a must in order to encourage self-auditing.

Inernet use in teaching and learning

The internet can be a great tool to enable off-site collaboration between myself and students. By having the ability to instantly "bounce off" ideas with each other, the time spent working in the wrong direction should be minimized. Also, by having the class blog site, it will enable the students to monitor each other's progress - or lack there of on group sections.

Ongoing assessments..

Ongoing assessments student-centered assessment can be very difficult to pin down. I think that by letting the students continue to read newspapers and find different ones using different skills will promote the discovery/learning process.

Student Learning

Student framing questions...hummm The last time I used anything that dealt with "Framing Questions" was when I was a Principal trying to get Charles to rat out who was putting the soap all over the bathroom mirrors...hopefully my use of Framing questions will prove to be much more effective in this environment...(Charles never broke - he wouldn't frame anybody... the soap on the mirrors stopped..as soon as we quit putting soap in the bathrooms)
Curriculum framing questions will help in the process by helping me bring into focus- a step at a time where we are trying to reach - broad vision down to specifics.....This will give the students the feeling of "I can do this...it is not overwhelming..I know where we are going.
