To create a self-directed learner is like the Chinese proverb -"Give a person a fish and he eats for a day...teach him to fish and he eats all of his life". By empowering our students to be self-directed learners we give them that power to learn. This done by giving them the tools to work with and evaluate their work, such as lists, timelines and clear and precise goals and objectives. Modeling and coaching will help perpetuate along with feedback and self-assessments.

To support the diverse needs of my students I must conform and address their individual needs. Such as working to their strengths, modeling and constant coaching Different instructional strategies must be used. Adjust projects to address strengths and also need areas. Assess through pertinent questioning to act as a catalyst for discussion. Also the techniques of scaffolding, modeling and coaching enhance effective instruction.
